My Mission and Goals

21 October 2008

GG’s therapist had a great suggestion that I think I will bring to my therapist tomorrow, with my own mission and goals inserted into the mix.

My Mission in Life:

To leave the world a happier place than I found it; to leave the world a
freer place than I found it; and to leave the world a prouder place than I
found it.

Goals Towards My Mission:

  • Personal
Expand upon and improve my current self-care regimens, which include:
eating healthier; exercising more; attending to my emotional needs
through introspection and meditation. Broaden my current interest set to
    include, well, more interesting things!
  • Romantic
Romance is on hold for the moment for me, but the eventual goal will be
to find a woman that will thrill, challenge, cherish, and worship me, and
that I cannot help but thrill, challenge, cherish, and worship her. I
want to find the greatest and dearest love of my life and together raise
    a family.
  • Social
Continue to deepen my relationships with my friends at Freedomain Radio.
Investigate local groups for friendships, though the pickings might be
slim, I do like the face-to-face contact as much as the next guy.
  • Professional
Create my dream job. Design the career which I will find meaningful and
which will only be a continued excitement for me as the years tick by.

The Daily TODO:

  • Read, recite, and review My Mission and Objectives
  • Exercise, 1 hour per day (Gym 3/wk, Therapeutic exercises 4/wk)
  • Meditation or simply “Quiet Time”, 30 min/day (minimum :) )
  • Promotional Work for Freedomain Radio, 30 min/day (minimum ;) )
  • Cheap or Free group activity, once per week, anytime during the week

Exciting! I'm very proud of you for making these goals and letting the world know about it. As you might know, I myself am a fan of goal-writing.

I haven't listened to the latest premium podcast around this area, so I don't know if this was mentioned, but it might help you to achieve some of your goals if you have someone who you can be accountable to and will help keep you motivated. Know what I mean?

If you want, I would like to extend that help to you personally and help make sure you stick with your goals. If you get into a rut we can talk about it. That's up to you though.

That reminds me that I should start posting my goals on my own blog again like I used to. I'll wait to do that after I hear the latest podcast.
